What is a Duplex Escalator Combi?

The Duplex Escalator is a modified version of the world renowned Duplex floor scrubber that has been specifically developed for fast easy cleaning of escalators and travellators. Available in two sizes referring to brush width, 350mm & 550mm, the Duplex Escalator will actually clean escalators while they run.

What makes Duplex Escalator so effective?

The Duplex Escalator combines dry sweeping and low moisture scrubbing to attain new standards of escalator cleaning. Firsty, the dual contra rotating extra long brushes penetrate deep into the escaltor treads to remove dry dust. This is followed by a low moisture scrub to remove stubborn grime without over-wetting the escalator mechanisms. A patented guide rail system also ensures that the Duplex Escalator tracks perfectly on the escalator.

the Duplex Escalator Combi employs a sweeping function via vacuum filtration to eradicate dust from the escalator or travelator. Following this, it releases a fine mist of water and cleaning solution over the treads, a process termed a 'damp wash'. Notably, the Duplex Escalator Combi is designed to use a minimal amount of water, aligning with escalator manufacturers' recommendations and championing environmental sustainability.

Step 1: Position the Duplex Escalator Combi 350/550 with the thin side (side with the least space between brush and wall) to the edge of the escalator step.

Step 2: Connect a vacuum to the recover tank lid and do a dry scrubbing cycle to remove dust from the escalator step treads.

Step 3: After dry sweeping remove the vacuum. Then give a low moisture scrub to remove more stubborn grime.

Step 4: Apply water by squeezing the water trigger for 1 second, then releasing for 1 second. Deep cleaning may take a couple of cycles of the escalator to complete.

Step 5: As an escalator is usually wider than the Duplex Escalator 350/550, the machine will need to be turned and moved to the adjacent side of the escalator step.

Step 6: Once repositioned repeat steps 2 & 3. This usually takes approximately 30 minutes as a couple of passes are required on each side.

The Duplex Escalator Combi boasts a distinct patented guide rail system. This innovative feature ensures the machine aligns perfectly with the treads of the escalator or travelator, facilitating safe operation even when the escalator or travelator is in motion.

Vacuum Attachment Feature

In Dry Sweep Cleaning Mode, the Combi thoroughly sweeps the escalator or travelator, with its specially designed brushes delving deep into the treads to lift away grime, which is then promptly vacuumed up.

When in Scrubbing Mode, a controlled release of detergent is managed by a bespoke distribution system, ensuring there's no seepage into the escalator or travelator mechanisms. This combined action of detergent and brush agitation effectively tackles accumulated dirt, which the Combi seamlessly collects through its automatic recovery system.

The Duplex Escalator Combi features a distinct patented guide rail system, ensuring flawless alignment on the escalator or travelator tread. This design enables secure and efficient operation even while the escalator or travelator is moving.

Clean to the Very Edge

The offset brush as with any Duplex Escalator allows the machine to clean right to the edge of the escalator. The machine can then be reversed so the brush cleans to the other edge and the process is repeated.

Dual Water Tanks

The Duplex cleaning machines incorporates easily accessible dual water tanks, designed for user convenience. This feature ensures smooth water transitions, whether refilling fresh water or emptying used, enhancing efficiency and reducing downtime during cleaning operations.

Adjustable Control Height

The Duplex integrates elegantly designed recessed controls, enabling users to instantly tailor the machine's settings for diverse floor surfaces. This feature ensures that, from hardwood to tile and beyond, every floor type receives optimal care and cleaning.

Dual Conveyor Belt & Brush Pick-Up

Our double conveyor belt and brush pick up systems allows for dirty water to be lifted up from deep within the floor surface and easily transported from the floor directly into the central recovery tank.
